Wearing my masters shoe | Cevio Art Haus

This painting is my first artwork last 2015, I was invited at Cevio Art Haus to be a part of a tribute exhibit. Titled as "Wearing my masters shoe" the participating artist were challenged to paint one of his/her favorite (Idol, hero or influence) artist in their style.

Obviously I chose Salvador Dali, he is one of my influence during university days. I painted Dali's "The Temptation of Saint Anthony" in my style, adding some of my "monolith stone cyclops". I had fun and learned a lot in the process of this painting, maybe I'll do another one soon. Thanks for reading and visiting this blog. Please feel free to subscribe to get updates. See you again soon.

Blogspot Rebirth: 2019

Its been a while since my last post, 4 years to be exact. But it doesn't mean I stopped painting, just been preoccupied by some stuffs but this time is my coming back in blog world. This post is also a public announcement that as of March 2019, I am no longer associated with *Yaru / *Yaru nu Artes Ivatan as it is now under new management. However I am happy to announce that we formed a new breed of Ivatan art group named Hangtay Artists  and a Creative Hub at Basco, Batanes.
I would like to thank the people who supported us, surely we will continue on with our art activities, workshops and exhibits.

To end this post, let me share you one of my works last 2015, as a proof that I didn't stop creating art :D

New updates and post every Wednesday. Stay tuned. Diyos mamahes!

S.I.G.A. / Soundshift

S.I.G.A. is the newest group of young, talented
Filipino contemporary visual artists to grace the Philippine art scene. A brainchild of Cevio Art Haus gallery owner, Atty. Cecilio Tobillo, he envisions the group to be the most promising and likely the next future stars of the art world. Composed of Jessie Mondares, Xavier Abelador, Odoi Villalon, Keith Paras, Michael Velasco, Ronante Maratas, Siefred Guilaran and Rodel Jacintos, they were carefully screened and selected based on their talent and their potential.

“Siga” in its vernacular Filipino term translates to “make a fire” or in its colloquial form “no fear to show off”. By carrying this moniker, the group aims to make a fire in the Philippine art scene by showing off their works without any fear or hesitation.

In this inaugural exhibit entitled Sound Shift, each participating artist was assigned a genre of music for him to interpret it in his own artistic style. With this particular exhibit, the group wanted to showcase works of art that are not only pleasing to see but soothing to hear as well. For they believe that the eyes are used to look at the painting but needs to hear and feel it with your heart to understand its meaning.

Here are my entries to the exhibit.
